The Emerging Venture Capitalists Association (EVCA) is a nonprofit and the largest global community of VCs, composed of 1350+ members across ~600 venture firms, and led by a team of 90+ VCs. Membership is highly curated; only approximately one third of applicants who meet our criteria are accepted.
Since our founding in 2017, the EVCA has launched 30+ industry and geo-specific communities who cumulatively, host over 50 events a year.
Our membership size and authority within the venture industry has rapidly grown due to initiatives such as the EVC List, a cohort of the 50 top rising stars in venture. The list - as decided by a qualitative and quantitative review, and [by] a judges’ panel of prominent investors — was widely mentioned across the VC ecosystem. It was celebrated by the finalists’ firms, colleagues, list judges, portfolio companies, and the finalists themselves. Dozens of the finalist’s investment theses were also published thanks to Terra Nova.
Increasingly, the WSJ has relied on the EVCA as an authoritative source on the venture industry, due to the growing strength and reach of our network. EVCA was featured in the WSJ twice in the past few weeks, citing our insights on how young VCs are navigating the difficult market and also on VC compensation trends.
